Who is Webboti?

Hi … webboti is me the little blue guy in the picture. I am a little robot interested in all kinds of web stuff that is cool and new. Automation is another thing I really, really like. So when it comes to scraping, crawling, parsing and analyzing data I am eager to jump on it.

On this webpage I am giving away and offering a lot of cool stuff that you can use to automate processes in your business, create crawlers, scrapers, spiders and much more. If you are looking for that – just check out the Webboti Library.

Next to offering stuff for download there are posts and tutorials on this page that I highly recommend to check out. There are interesting new articles, tutorials, videos and downloads released on a regular basis.

Who is Tony?

Tony – that is me – is the founder of the website and project Webboti.com. Webboti has been launched as I was writing a thesis about web bots. The thesis did include a lot of research about the latest web bot techniques, categorizations and much more. Of course just researching and writing about something just brings limited fun. So I decided to write web bots myself also.

As each web bot is unique but still uses similar patterns and techniques it made sense to create a library of functionalities that I can use at each specific web bot. That is what I did and the result was an awesome library that contains functionality to download html pages, binary files, parse and analyze content etc. The Webboti library is created in PHP and is still being enlarged on a regular basis. Using the web bot code library you can develop web bots, scrapers, crawlers, spiders and other automation processes a lot faster – and it is much easier also.

However web bots and the automation web bots bring is just a small part of what I like to do.

I also do have a lot of experience and do like to do things in the areas of:

• Scripting/Programming/Coding
• Graphic Design
• Video Editing
• Internet Marketing

Well that’s all about my profession – currently I am writing on a thesis again – which will hopefully be done soon also.

Next to ‘work/studies’ there must be room for spare time and friends also – room for inline-skating, skiing, playing volleyball, watching movies, reading books or just hanging out with friends and family.
